A Great Leap

Recently I decided to escape the backyard to follow a deer. My Mom and Dad ran to the gate and called me. I decided to run back inside since the deer ran into the trees eluding me. My new parents were perplexed as to how my 108 lbs made it over the fence. Well today I demonstrated my prowess. It was something that would have made an immediate internet sensation especially if filmed in slow-motion. My Mom exited the back gate and went to the back of the property then she called my name. I ran up the ramp, across the pool deck, then just under the pergola I leapt off the upper-deck landing without missing a step. It felt so good to fly through the air! I ran around and around the back of the property wagging my tail. When my Mom and her friend Charlotte called me to go back through the gate, I decided to explore a little first. It was so much fun.

I wonder why Mom and Dad aren’t walking me in the backyard anymore. I like the East Garden but it’s small with tall sides.

Oh well, I still get to go on a long walk each day. Today my canine bro, Elvis came with us but he sat in a stroller the whole 2 miles. I wonder if I’ll get a stroller when I’m old, too.
