Inequality

I’ve been on protest for equal rights of canines. Anyone with me? Shouldn’t canines of all breeds, sizes, colors and gender be afforded equal treatment within families?

I realize I’m new to this family so I waited more than a week to observe all activities. Elvis and Penny are fed wet food while I was given the same dry food as in my previous home. After a few days, I was allowed to eat some of their food. I definitely like wet food better, but I’m holding out for a better food. Looks like my protest is working because I’m being offered better and better choices.

Elvis and Penny are allowed to go to the garden anytime they want as they have a special pet door. Huh, I can’t get my head through that small door. Wonder when I’ll get my own special pet door?

Elvis and Penny are allowed in our parent’s laps ON the furniture. I’ve always been trained that furniture is off limits. This afternoon I decided I had to protest this inequality. When Mom sat in her chair and allowed Elvis to sit with her, I hopped onto the nearby sofa. It felt good, briefly but then Mom strongly said No Sir! and made me jump down. What’s up with that?

Now I’ve always slept inside a crate. I’m comfortable in my large crate and even feel safe when inside. However, Elvis and Penny are allowed to sleep ON my parent’s bed. It’s a big bed and looks comfy. Last night I decided I would see if the bed was more comfortable than my crate. When asked by Mom to go to crate, I balked and instead jumped up on the chaise lounge then right onto the bed. Wow, it felt great and appeared to be large enough for me. It was not to be... Mom quickly responded with No Sir making me get off the bed. I could tell she felt guilty when she looked at my sad eyes. Well, I count a partial win on this protest when Mom spread a blanket on the chaise lounge and let me sleep on it.

All canines join me in protest. We must stand up for Equal Rights. Dog Lives Matter.
