Mornings

My mornings have become routine. My Mom gets up and immediately opens my crate. I run out and shake all over before going out to the garden. The garden is full of lots of smells from squirrels and other critters that I think are raccoons. I spend a lot of time running from one new smell to another.

It always seems too soon when Mom opens the door to call me back inside. Even so, I love coming inside to Mom’s great bear hugs and kisses.

The first few days here, I wasn’t sure about returning to my parent’s room because my canine siblings were there on their bed. Mom coaxed me gradually to come next to her side of the bed where I enjoy my benebones while they watch morning news and sip from cups.

It’s a great start to a day. Even so I’m marking time till Mom makes my breakfast. That’s the best.

Today is Christmas Eve. Mom and Dad are planning more visits with family and friends to exchange packages with ribbons and bows. They always cover their face when we visit with others. I wonder why? I’m wondering how these people will smell. Will they be friendly or scary?

Dad is brining turkeys today. How I would like to get that turkey to myself. I know it would taste great without any ‘brining’.

I’ve heard we will be going to something called Peppermint Parkway tonight to see lights. I wonder how we will all fit in the car. Will Penny sit next to me without a fuss? Mom promises to take pictures to add to my post.

Merry Christmas All!!
