New Duds

I have a new harness and leash. They are a bit too bright but I think it’s a good look. Someone needs to tighten the straps a bit better to flatter my manly figure. With all my exercise, I think I’m looking a bit more fit.

On our walk to the lake road today, I found 2 bones. The wildlife around here can’t hide their stashes from my nose! I try to eat them as quickly as possible before Mom comes and takes the bones from me. Spoil-sport.

I found a hiding place for some critter, probably black ground squirrels that had burrowed into the hillside. I tried to get my nose in there to grab one but the burrow openings were too small.

I flushed a large heron from its roost in a nearby tree. It squawked loudly and flew away.

Next I decided to go down the side of the bank, into some branches and roots so I could check out the water. When I walked into the lake, it was a lot colder that I had figured. I decided to take a u-turn and jump out. I think Mom was startled that I actually went into the water. She’ll probably stop me from that fun, too in the future. I’m big. She should trust me more to stay safe.

I enjoyed the outing but it’s time to wag into the sunset.
